Use the Chainsaw Bar Rail Dresser Sharpening Toolto remove burrs from the bar rails and level the bar rail toreduce rail chipping and prevent your bar from knifing. It will also Lengthen your Chainsaw Life.
Redress your chainsaw guide rails to 90 degrees to keep the chain cutting straight; Run the file perpendicularly to the bar and use in various positions with the file dressing the outer edges or the tops of the rails (chamfer the edges of the guide bar and redress the rails at 90 degrees)

It looks like it will work it's still in the package however it looks just like the other one I have it saves one step . That is checking how true your filed job is with a square or something
Great price and works just as well as the more expensive models. Bought this for my Lucas mill to help dress the bar between chain changes. Should have purchased this a year ago.
This holds the file square with the bar to get the guide rails even. I have no complaints, just use a good pair of gloves to help protect your fingers from cuts.
This thing is simple and it just works I dressed like five bars in just minutes if you have multiple chainsaw bars you need this
I have conditioned 2 Stihl bars with this tool and wish I had purchased it years ago. Very easy to use and the file cuts good on the hardened Stihl bars, I give this item a thumbs up.
I used it for the first time and it cleaned the edges of the bar so that they were smooth. I would support the use of this tool as will improve you chain going around the bar.
Bar dresser works real nice, easy to use, being left handed I had to turn the file around and I used a marker to put an arrow on the front so I would know which way the file cuts.even with 5 chainsaws and 1 polesaw the bar dresser won’t be used that often but when I need it I’ll have it.i keep my chains sharp and I make sure the bar oilers are working properly.very happy with the purchase of the bar dresser
every once in a while i wear down a bar on my saws in an uneven way. in the past I have either paid to get it ground back down or used a bench grinder (don't, unless you are an expert and have very good hands). The best thing that I had actually used was a skate sharpener at a hockey rink (I used to play ice hockey) to get my bars back to perfect shape....but that took some effort and wasn't very portable.
This is fast and easy. works well. pretty ergonomic grip. I always use a round file when i change my chains to go over the edges of the bar, but I never had anything to along the guide itself. this is awesome. I wish I had it a long time ago.
