Trim router bit is essentially the tool to perfect wood work. This Trim Router Bit are made to met industrial quality to have high quality wood cutting result. The router bits are carbide-tipped for outstanding longevity and stay sharpsall the time. Trim router bits cut a variety of materials from wood, plywood, MDF and other wood composites, plastics, and solid surface.
Trim router bits are useful for cutting with template/pattern, joints, internal cuts and can be used in handheld and table-mounted routers. The template is attached to the workpiece, and the pilot bearing rides along its edge as the cutting edges rout the workpiece, forming an exact duplicate of the template. With a handheld router, the pattern is on top of the work; with a table-mounted router, the pattern is underneath the work.
Used the bit to round the corners of an office desk that I had resized on a table saw. It is meant to follow a pattern, but the dual bearing option allows for patterns to be placed either above or below the piece that is being trimmed. The bearings require detailed attention to adjust properly, but in my limited experience all bits such as this have that same issue.
I bought this bit to hog out 1/2" plywood in wall openings. Chucked this in a 3 horse router and all I can say is STAND BACK. This bit flat out cuts. I would buy another one in a heart beat...but since the bit is heavy and well made, and razor sharp, I don't think that will be happening for a while.
I got this to try out in our architectural millwork shop. We're always switching between a bottom bearing or top bearing or straight bit with a collar. With this, all we have to do is change the height while keeping the same bit in. It's all the guys want to use now. We mostly use it with Corian, but we also use it with solid wood, plywood, mdf and particle board. Each bit seems to last a year in a high production shop until the carbide starts to wear down. They were still cutting nicely, it just wasn't cutting as flush as it once was, so I switched them out with new ones.
My husband is constantly working fixing and creating things and these have made his job a lot easier.
These things are strong and stay secure. I'm happy to find a bit that will cut clean and will stay put. I would definitely recommend this to friends. Very good bit for the money.
Have used them for background clean up on signs and making boarders with templates. Work great.
Used the bits to remove wood for a Dutchman repair. I used a template for the router and found the bearings for the bits to be accurate such that the template was not cut by the bit.
Great kit for a starter like myself. I am new to routering my pieces to give it that finished look or putting that opening in the middle of work. These are a great price and work very well.
